Huila is one of the thirty-two departments of Colombia, located in the southwest of the country with a population of one million inhabitants. The land there is surrounded by high peaks, rain forests and deep river valleys. Neiva is the capital of Huila, one of the most important cities in southern Colombia, mainly due to its strategic geographical location. Coffee farming in the majestic Huila differs from other regions. It is mainly small-scaaltitude up to 1.900 m.a.s.l almost through the whole year. The key to great coffee in InConexus Huila Program is their personalized working package with farmers are the growers themselves and their approach towards the rainforest preservation, as key for biodiversity and sustainability of the land, selection and separation on varieties, selected hand-picking of ripe cherries, fermentation to an adequate level and controlled drying. The families proudly farm high-quality coffee and passed that art through over the generation.
