REGIONAL INFORMATION + PRODUCER INFORMATION
Located in the Nothern slope of the Sierra Nevada, the coffee of La Secreta village grows in a windy area, surrounded by Colombia’s highest snow peak, but also only 10 km away from the Caribbean Sea. This unique and very special environment creates a cup with a strong fragrance, high body, long aftertaste, a medium - low acidity and notes of chocolate and nuts.
The association was created in 2005 with the objective of supporting rural communities of the northern region of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. They have crops of different types of fruits and beans, but especially the production of coffee revealed great potential. Sustainable methods were implemented in every step of the process in order to enhance quality and protect the resource of the neighboring area of the National Park reserve.
