AAPICUC coffee growers and beekeepers use their resources responsibly as part of their commitment with the eviroment, from their daily work they produce compost which is made from a mixture of cattle manure and coffee pulp, this mixture not only help eliminate waste from the farms of the associated producers but also from Union Cantinil. The coffee pulp is stored in cement rooms and every 10 to 15 days is turned over for ventilation and thus helps the transformation of substances, this compost will have necessary nutrients to be reintegrated into the coffee in approximately five months. In the end eliminating the use of pesticides and herbicides and using this compost instead its only a small fraction of all the work put in to produce organic sustainable coffee.
