REGIONAL + PRODUCER INFORMATION
Located in Ocotepeque, Honduras, Cocafelol is a cooperative with over 300 members. They place great important on coffee quality, as well as help leaders compete in the globalized market, in turn working towards achieving self-sustainability of participating farmers and families. This cooperative is strict with their organic techniques and takes into consideration climate variability and effects on the environment.
Ten years ago, Norma Lara inherited from her father a piece of land; shortly afterwards she began working in COCAFELOL as a cleaning lady. Little by little she became interested in coffee and its source and decided to plant her own farm. The farm was named "Gaby” in honor of her daughter. Every day she works hard to improve the farm and motivate her daughter to follow the same path.
Today she is a specialized coffee producer and her goal is to maintain the quality of her coffee, to satisfy customers. In doing so, she feels happy and also assure a good future for her daughter and son.
